Gaia / Terra Mater

The Titan Mother Goddess Gaia is the creator of the physical earth and the interconnected environments, waters, mountains and living beings of the planet itself. In Greek mythology is was said that during the creation of the cosmos, Gaia brought order from the chaos of creation. She divided the earth from the starry cosmos that wraps around her, and divided day from night. She is the bridge of the middle world formed between the heavens and the underworld. Gaia has been invoked as the Giver of Gifts, the Nurturer of Children, and the Beauty of Childbirth. She was called upon for help with fertility, pregnancy, and as a protector of mothers. I invoke Gaia’s aid in restoring beauty to childbirth, by protecting women’s reproductive health rights and medical care.
